The Radio Equipment Directive (Directive 2014/53/EU ) sets out rules for selling radio equipment in the EU. It ensures a single market for radio equipment by laying down requirements for, among others, health and safety and a common charging solution.
For radio equipment that can be recharged with wired charging, this initiative aims to modify the reference to the technical specifications on the charging receptacle and charging communication protocol.
