Finland - Discussing dangerous chemicals with a focus on the automotive and metal industries

This conference brings together representatives of government, trade unions, universities and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to present the Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances campaign. The aim is to raise awareness of the risks posed by dangerous chemicals in the workplace, especially in the automotive and metal industries.

Speakers discuss the threats posed by hazardous chemical agents in various business sectors. They review proper ways to assess and manage the risks of such substances and explain that companies can become more competitive by improving risk management, and as a result, the health and safety of their employees. They also identify chemical safety cards as an effective way to provide clear information on chemicals by using data sheets, and present examples of using these cards in the automotive and metal industries.

Finally, speakers share good practice examples of managing dangerous substances and encourage participants to take part in the Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Awards.
