Pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters are listed in Annex I to Regulation 2019/1021 implementing the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, and so are banned in the EU.
This initiative sets a limit for those chemicals as unintentional trace contaminants in substances, mixtures and articles. This limit will help to enforce the ban.
