Incoming environment commissioner Virginijus Sinkevicius was non-committal when repeatedly pressed during his recent parliamentary hearing to state his intentions regarding the strategy, which was due for delivery “by 2018” under the seventh EU Environmental Action Programme (EAP). He eventually suggested it would be part of a broader ‘zero-pollution’ goal.
