Medicinal Products and Cosmetics

Medicines are to be entered into the Myanmar state register before being released onto the national market. Therefore, importers or manufacturers must submit their documents to the Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Health and Sports. Cosmetic products to be imported into Myanmar must be registered with the Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Health and Sports. Beforehand, the intention to place cosmetic products on the Burmese market is to be stated by the marketer by means of a Notification for Cosmetic Products which is to be submitted to the aforementioned authority. The registration is processed upon submission of an obligatory notification from the marketer.

Waste

Myanmar is a member of the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal. Furthermore, on 5 December 2019 the so-called Ban Amendment (Decision III/1) came into force, which Myanmar has not ratified yet. The responsible authority in Myanmar is the Environmental Conservation Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC)
