Belgium – Symposium on successfully managing dangerous substances

Description - This symposium is one of the events marking the European Week for Safety and Health at Work and aims to raise awareness of the risks posed by chemicals in the workplace and promote a culture of risk prevention. Speakers present research on Belgian workers’ exposure to dangerous substances and the causes of in different jobs and industries. They discuss how companies can effectively undertake risk analyses and implement prevention measures when working with hazardous substances. They also share ideas on establishing measuring strategies and share practical tools and guidance that can be used to promote occupational safety and health (OSH). Finally, speakers compare measurement examples and limit values from neighbouring countries and share Safety Data Sheets – a key element in the risk assessment process.
