Australia is considering potential reforms to the regulation of vaping products, including electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDs) and electronic non-nicotine delivery systems (ENNDs). The proposed reforms aim to prohibit all vapes, except therapeutic products for smoking cessation or nicotine addiction treatment, in accordance with Australia's therapeutic goods legislation. This includes prohibiting single-use disposable vapes and implementing import and manufacturing restrictions. The objective is to control access to vapes due to health risks, particularly among young people, and impose quality standards to reduce attractiveness to children and adolescents. Further consultations on these reforms are ongoing.
