China | Amendment of the "Medical Device Classification Catalog"

On 30th March, 2022, China NMPA released the Notice of Amendment of the "Medical Device Classification Catalog" (NMPA Notice No.30 2020). Radiofrequency beauty instrument is considered as medical devices in China now, with 2 years of transition period.

Enterprises should obtain a medical device registration certificate before producing, importing and selling radio frequency beauty instruments.

The registration transition period of radio frequency beauty instrument is two years, that is, before April 1, 2024, enterprises should complete the corresponding registration declaration.
