KEMI | Enforcement 4/22: Supervision of pesticides 2021

In 2021, the Swedish Chemicals Agency carried out a national joint project together with inspectors from 78 of Sweden's 290 municipalities. The project's focus was on the control of biocidal products and plant protection products in the trade.

In the project, the Swedish Chemicals Agency and participating municipalities have, for example, checked that companies only sell authorised products, label them in accordance with current legislation and checked the obligation to inform about risks when selling to non-professionals. In the project, 38 primary suppliers and 440 retailers were controlled. A total of 55 products were inspected at primary suppliers and 1,288 products at retailers. Most of the checked products were products for consumer use e.g., for use in the household or garden.
