The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) High Phthalates Panel issued a statement on the EPA’s draft risk evaluation for DIDP and hazard assessments for DINP. The EPA found no evidence that DIDP causes cancer and deemed 46 out of 47 uses safe. The ACC appreciates the opportunity to review these findings and will engage with the EPA to address any uncertainties. The hazard assessments for DINP align with other regulatory agencies, confirming that observed liver tumors in rodents are not relevant to humans. The ACC remains confident in the safety of both DIDP and DINP and values the ongoing assessment process.
