Even though environment conservation is widely advertised and taught from the youngest age, the figures speak for themselves. As it seems, the efforts we put into fighting plastic waste are far from sufficient.

It all starts from the little things. For instance, Australians throw away 45% of empty ink cartridges. Little by little, and estimates show that up till the present moment, the world has seen some 8.3bn tonnes of plastic produced. By 2015, around 6.3bn tonnes of plastic refuse was generated, which is a disturbing number. That roughly translates as: 9% of plastic was recycled, 12% was incinerated, and 79% of that enormous pile of waste is in the environment, poisoning us.
