The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) includes Chromium VI in their Proposition 65 List.   It is listed as a chemical known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.  Chromium VI can be used in pigments for tanning leather or dyeing textiles.
