The European Commission is undertaking a study on how resource and energy efficiency can help design better and more sustainable buildings. The study aims to identify policy options to support the uptake of “circular economy principles for buildings design” in European, national and local policies, with the overall aim of increasing the service life of buildings, ease the use of secondary materials and improve resource efficiency throughout the building lifecycle.
