On 8 June 2020, The Brewers of Europe filed a complaint under Art. 4 of the EU Trade Barriers Regulation (2015/1843). The complaint submits that the Mexican Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT) announced it would no longer grant export certificates to the company producing and exporting Tequila to EU destined to use for flavoured beer.
