2.1. New mandates

None

2.2. Preliminary Opinions open under finalisation

● Preliminary ‘Scientific advice on the safety of nanomaterials in cosmetics’ has been adopted by the SCCS by written procedure on 5 October and published for commenting period until 2 November. In total, 9 comments were received from different stakeholders. The replies to comments and the revised (final) Advice have been prepared by the working group members and adopted by the SCCS. Replies to received comments have been sent out to the stakeholders.

● Preliminary Opinion on Hydroxyapatite (nano) – submission II. Opinion was adopted at the SCCS October plenary meeting. Opinion was open for comments 2 until 4 January 2021. Two comments have been received. Reply to comments and the final version have been discussed.

● Preliminary Opinion on Copper (nano) and Colloidal Copper (nano). Opinion was adopted at the SCCS October plenary meeting. Opinion was open for comments until 4 January 2021. Only one comment has been received. Reply to comment and the final version have been discussed.

● Opinion on Platinum/colloidal platinum. Opinion has been discussed and revised and it will be further discussed at the next meeting.

● Opinion on Gold/colloidal gold and surface modified gold. Opinion has been discussed and revised and it will be further discussed at the next meeting.

● Opinion on HAA299 nano (UV filter Bis-(Diethylaminohydroxybenzoyl Benzoyl) Piperazine). Opinion has been discussed and revised and it will be further discussed at the next meeting.
