EEB response to the public consultation on environmental impact of waste management (revision of the Waste Framework Directive)

In this document, the EEB responds to a public consultation launched by the European Commission on the environmental impact of waste management (revision of the WFD – Waste Framework Directive).

The EEB encourages the European Commission to implement an ambitious mandatory waste reduction target for all municipal solid waste and for specific waste streams, decrease waste generation through sustainable product design, a cap on residual waste target, support mechanisms for sorting and recycling, and extended producer responsibility and eco-modulation of fees.
