Taiwan | Food Businesses Shall Establish Traceability System of Food Products

WTO TBT NOTIFICATION G/TBT/N/TPKM/297 - According to article 9 of the Act Governing Food and Safety Sanitation, the MOHW shall regulate the designated food businesses to establish traceability system in order to trace the source and track the flow. Since 2014, the MOHW has designated 22 categories of food businesses to establish their own traceability system. Based on risk evaluation and food safety consideration this draft amendment will add. 3 more categories (namely Agricultural products including plant, algae original, no matter fresh, freeze, frozen, dried, and processing by other methods, other food products and box meal) of food businesses to establish the traceability system.
