The Minutes of the Working Group Meeting on Cosmetic Ingredients includes the following items:

New mandates

(*) A mandate for an opinion on aluminium (aggregate exposure data) has been adopted by written procedure on 7 may and published.

(*) A draft mandate for an opinion on arbutins has been discussed and will be sent officially by DG GROW for plenary agenda and adoption.

(*) A draft mandate for a scientific advice on ED substances left from Group A (like Triclocarban and Triclosan) has been discussed and will be sent officially by DG GROW for plenary agenda and adoption.

Draft Opinion discussed

(*) Prostaglandin and analogues: the draft opinion was presented by the rapporteur and discussed. New tasks were distributed among members.

(*) Methylsalicylate: the draft opinion was presented by the rapporteur and discussed. New tasks were distributed among members.

(*) Genistein/Daidzein: both dossiers were presented by the rapporteurs and tasks distributed among members.

Comments on opinions

(*) Homosalate: the final draft opinion has been discussed together with the final SCCS answers to the comments received. They will be discussed plenary meeting for finalisation and adoption.

Information from Chairman/Members/Commission

(*) The scientific advice on the threshold for the warning ‘contains formaldehyde’ in Annex V has been adopted by written procedure on 7 May and published.

(*) C054 hair dye: the draft preliminary Opinion has been adopted by written procedure on 7 May and published for comments by 5 July 2021.

(*) The Chair of the WG on Methodology shared a poster on thyroid toxicity presented by Eurotox at European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA) meeting held on 5 May. She suggested to invite an AD-HOC speaker for discussing that specific issue related to ongoing files. SCCS agreed.
