Japan Revises Pesticide Residue Regulations

On Jan. 22, 2018, Japan MHLW announced the amendments to "Specifications and Standards for Food and Food Additives", which mainly revised the residue limit of 6 pesticide and veterinary drugs in food and exempted two substances from the list. Details are as follows:

(*) 6 revised pesticides and veterinary drugs are, gibberellic acid, Dimethenamid, fluxapyroxad, tau-fluvalinate, heptachlor and rac-monepantel

(*) the residue limit of fluzametamide used as a pesticide was newly prescribed

(*)  Glyceryl caprate and CITREM were regarded as exempted substances

This revision is implemented as of the release date. The residue limits of some food can still follow the former standard within 6 months after the release.
