China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently issued a notice regarding the promotion and implementation of the newly revised "Regulations on the Management of Ozone-Depleting Substances."

The regulations, effective from March 1, 2024, emphasize strengthening the management of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons, aligning with the ecological civilization principles advocated by President Xi Jinping.

The revisions aim to enhance environmental protection, address climate change, and actively participate in global environmental governance. Key aspects include adapting to international agreements, improving management systems, increasing penalties for violations, and promoting innovation in monitoring and control mechanisms.

The Ministry urges environmental authorities at all levels to thoroughly understand and implement the new regulations, enhance public awareness, and ensure effective enforcement to protect the ozone layer, the environment, and public health while promoting high-quality economic and social development in China.
