South Korea Stops Food Imports From 34 Overseas Manufacturers

According to the MFDS report released on July 30th, 2019, South Korea completed the onsite inspection of 212 overseas manufacturers in the first half of the year.

Along with the implementation of Import Food Act publicized on Dec. 11th, 2018, the disqualification rate of onsite inspection in H1, 2019 reached 16.0%, three times higher than 2016. Among the 212 manufacturers inspected, 34 of them were banned from exporting products to South Korea due to the non-compliant sanitation management.
