Redress Design Award 2023 Calls for Emerging Sustainable Fashion Designers to Rethink Fashion

The Redress Design Award 2023, the world's largest sustainable fashion design competition, has opened its applications, inviting emerging fashion designers with less than four years of experience to showcase their skills in sustainable fashion design. The competition aims to foster a circular fashion industry right from the drawing board and is organized by Hong Kong-based environmental NGO Redress.

With a global reach spanning over 50 countries and support from more than 150 universities, the 13th cycle of the competition offers aspiring designers the chance to compete for exciting prizes. The winner will receive HK$80,000 (US$10,000) in development funding and an exclusive collaboration opportunity with VF Corporation.

The Redress Design Award has a prestigious alumni network that provides career enhancement opportunities in sustainable design. Past alumni achievements include participation in fashion weeks and brand collaborations, among other accomplishments.

After three years of travel restrictions due to the global pandemic, Redress is excited to welcome the competition finalists to Hong Kong in September. The finalists will participate in in-person masterclasses, challenges during the Grand Final Week, and have their designs showcased on the runway during the Grand Final Fashion Presentation. The winners of the Redress Design Award 2023 will also be announced during this event.

In addition, Redress is re-launching the Redress Design Award Pathway Course, which offers students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of circular fashion design strategies and techniques. The course now includes a new module on "Fibre Choices and Sustainability". Applicants to the Redress Design Award will have extended access to the course material until the application period closes on March 16, 2023.
