Argentina Focus: import licensing, animal products, Import Licence for Ozone-Depleting Substances as well as Import Certificate for Used Machinery

Import Licensing

The scope of commodities subject to either an Automatic Import Licence or a Non-Automatic Import Licence (stipulated by Resolution No. 523-E/2017 (as amended)) has been modified by means of Disposition No. 9 and Disposition No. 10 of the Ministry of Productive Development, which were published in the Argentine Official Gazette (Boletín Oficial) in May 2020. Therefore, the assignment of commodity codes, i.e. the classification of goods pertaining to the mentioned documents of this import report, has been updated accordingly. Moreover, the quoted documents have been amended as regards the customs regimes exempt from the requirement of an import licence. 

Animal Products

The document entitled Veterinary Health Certificate for Animal Products has been enhanced with details of additional particulars which may be required to be stated in said certificate with regard to certain diseases. 

Import Licence for Ozone-Depleting Substances

In accordance with Resolution No. 104 of 2020 of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, published in the Argentine Official Gazette (Boletín Oficial) on 6 April 2020, the document entitled Import Licence for Ozone-Depleting Substances has been revised with respect to the applicable period of validity. Import Certificate for Used Machinery

Several procedureal details of the application procedure as described in the document entitled Import Certificate for Used Machinery have been brought up to date, as applicable, in accordance with the current legislation, i.e. Resolution No. 909 of 1994 (as amended) and Joint Resolution No. 43 of 2019.
