The Minutes of the 15th Meeting of the Working Group on Food Additives Permitted in Foods for Infants Below 16 Weeks of Age includes the following scientific topics for discussion:
(*) Re-evaluation of pectin (E 440i) and amidated pectin (E 440ii) as a food additive in foods for infants below 16 weeks of age The draft opinion was discussed and revised.
The draft opinion will be further discussed in a forthcoming working group meeting.
(*) Re-evaluation of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (E4666) as a food additive in foods for infants below 16 weeks of age
The working group discussed the approach to be taken in the assessment of sodium carboxymethyl
cellulose (E 466) considering the data submitted by the interested business operators.
