Kemi's Enforcement Project Reveals High Non-Compliance Rates in E-commerce

In a recent report by the Swedish Chemicals Agency, Kemi, concerning the enforcement of e-commerce articles in 2022, alarming non-compliance rates were uncovered. The study, which focused on marketplaces and dropshipping, examined 147 articles ranging from toys and jewellery to electronics and soft plastic items. Shockingly, the findings revealed that dropshipping stores exhibited the highest non-compliance rate at 72 percent, followed by marketplaces at 60 percent and traditional online stores at 39 percent. This project is part of a larger European enforcement initiative and a Nordic e-commerce project aimed at ensuring the integrated control of products.
