The European Union Observatory for Nanomaterials (EUON) has issued a call for proposals for its upcoming studies. The EUON is seeking study topics related to the health and safety aspects of nanomaterials, specific issues surrounding the uses of nanomaterials, or information about markets for nanomaterials.

Proposals can cover nanomaterials in general, a specific nanomaterial, or a defined group of nanomaterials. Interested parties can submit their proposals in .docx or .pdf format to nano-observatory[at]echa.europa.eu until April 27, 2023. The proposal should include a title and a brief description (maximum 1 page) that outlines the study topic and why a particular knowledge gap should be addressed.

The EUON team will assess all proposals, and if selected, the study will be carried out through EUON's existing procurement channels. The study reports will be made available on the EUON website. It's important to note that submitting a proposal does not guarantee that the EUON will carry out a study on the topic.

The EUON usually conducts two studies each year to address knowledge gaps on nanomaterials. The scope of the studies will not require laboratory research and will be based on desk research and surveys. The EUON aims to provide insights and recommendations for regulatory and policy decisions based on the studies.
