A science approach document (SciAD) provides a description of a scientific approach to evaluate environmental or human health risk of substances. SciADs also include the results of the application of the scientific approach to substances that were identified as priorities for assessment because they met the categorization criteria under section 73 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) or were identified through other mechanisms as assessment priorities.
The Science approach documents includes the following scientific topic(s):
(*) Bioactivity exposure ratio: application in priority setting and risk assessment
(*) Ecological risk classification of inorganic substances (ERC-I)
(*) Substances with low human health hazard potential
(*) Biomonitoring-based approach 2 for barium-containing substances, molybdenum-containing substances, silver-containing substances, thallium-containing substances and inorganic tin-containing substances
(*) Threshold of toxicological concern (TTC)-based approach for certain substances
(*) Biomonitoring-based approach 1 for beryllium, vanadium, trichlorooxo and vanadium oxide
(*) Ecological risk classification of organic substances (ERC)
