IFRA and Cosmetics Europe welcome European Parliament’s support for the CLP revision
Brussels, 4 October 2023 – The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and Cosmetics Europe today welcomed the European Parliament’s support for the revision of the Regulation on the Classification, Labeling and Packaging of Chemical Substances and Mixtures (CLP).
Changes to the CLP appreciated by IFRA and Cosmetics Europe include the classification of renewable substances of botanical origin and the grouping of substances. The adoption of the Parliament position means that a key part of the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) is falling into place.
“IFRA and Cosmetics Europe together welcome the adoption of the European Parliament position. It represents a significant advance over the draft text originally proposed by the European Commission in December last year”, said Aurelie Perrichet, Regional Director for Europe at IFRA.CONTINUE READING ON: ifrafragrance.org
