The aim of the present report was to investigate experimentally the two options - dry deashing / slagging and wet scrubbing / slaking in a water bath - with regard to the quality of the metals and minerals selected. For this purpose, ashes / slags were discharged wet and dry from a waste incineration plant and then evaluated by means of processing, metallurgical and structural characterization methods. In addition to the classical treatment, such as magnetic separation, new approaches such as biological and chemical leaching and bioflotation for metal recovery from the fine fraction <4 mm were investigated on a laboratory scale.
