ANSES | Annual report 2019: Post-MA surveillance of veterinary medicinal products

Veterinary medicinal products are mainly governed by European regulations. The French Agency for Veterinary Medicinal Products (ANSES-ANMV), part of ANSES, is the competent authority for assessing and managing risks associated with veterinary medicinal products in France. Its missions are structured around three themes – assessment, authorisation and surveillance – and it carries them out as part of a wider European network. It is responsible for ensuring that prescribers and animal owners are provided with veterinary medicinal products that are safe, effective and of good quality. In order to fulfil this task, ANSES-ANMV intervenes in all stages of the veterinary medicinal product lifecycle.
