The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has issued a call for data for the re-evaluation of fumaric acid (E 297) and succinic acid (E 363) as food additives. This is part of an ongoing program to re-evaluate food additives that were approved before January 20, 2009, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 257/2010. The original deadline for this re-evaluation was December 2020, but it has been extended due to incomplete data submission.
