Government urges businesses to prepare for 'no deal' Brexit chemicals rules

Thousands of businesses that manufacture, use, or trade chemicals have today been advised to familiarise themselves with major changes to the UK's regulatory regime that would come into effect in the event of a 'no deal' Brexit.

Defra this morning published updated guidance providing more details on how a new UK Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regime governed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) would replace the existing EU REACH regulations in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal on March 29th.
