Protest action at the start of the World Cup in Qatar: German environmental aid and FFC Olympia set an example for deforestation-free leather supply chains at Nike and Adidas
Frankfurt am Main / Berlin, November 21, 2022 : With an expressive protest action, the German Environmental Aid (DUH) and the football club FFC Olympia 07 are calling for leather supply chains for sports and leisure shoes to be free of deforestation. Ahead of Sunday's men's team match, players and club officials on the pitch sent a strong message to Adidas and Nike. The jerseys read: "Clean our shoes!". The opposing team from FC Heisenrath Goldstein has also joined the protest.
