Description
STPP is used as a preservative for poultry, meat, and seafood. It is also added, along with other sodium polyphosphates, to processed cheeses as an emulsifier. It is also used in the manufacture of detergent, water treatment chemical, purification china clay, conditioning of oil drilling mud, in paper making and textile processing etc. The locally manufactured or imported Sodium triphosphate shall conform to the Indian standard (IS 6100: 1984) and shall bear the standard mark under license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The use of standard mark is governed by the provisions of Bureau of Indian Standards Act 1986 and the Rules and Regulations made there under. Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority.
