European industry makes 2030 commitments under EU's "Green Deal" initiative

The European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) has endorsed a set of commitments to support the European Commission’s “Green Deal” initiative, under which the continent’s agrochemical legislation is slated to be revised. As part of its support for the initiative, the ECPA has revealed plans to invest over €14 billion ($16.7 billion at the current rate) in new technologies and more sustainable products by 2030. Of this sum, it intends to infuse €10 billion ($11.9 billion) into precision technologies and the remaining €4 billion ($4.7 billion) on innovations in biopesticides.
