The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada has issued a notification regarding the publication of RSS-102 Issue 6, which addresses the compliance of radiocommunication apparatus with radio frequency (RF) exposure regulations. This notification aims to inform stakeholders and interested parties about the newly released documents and initiate a consultation process.
RSS-102, Issue 6 provides comprehensive requirements and measurement techniques for evaluating the RF exposure compliance of radiocommunication apparatus designed to be used near the human body. The publication covers all frequency bands and emphasizes the importance of ensuring safety in relation to RF exposure.
Alongside RSS-102 Issue 6, the Department is concurrently releasing several companion documents that complement the main publication. These include RSS-102.SAR.MEAS Issue 1, RSS-102.NS.MEAS Issue 1, RSS-102.NS.SIM Issue 1, RSS-102.IPD.MEAS Issue 1, and RSS-102.IPD.SIM Issue 1, each focusing on specific measurement or simulation procedures related to RF exposure evaluation.
Stakeholders and interested parties are encouraged to review the documents and provide their comments to the designated authority, Canada's Notification Authority and Enquiry Point, within the specified timeframe. The consultation period will end on September 1, 2023, allowing ample time for feedback and input.
This notification serves as an important step in ensuring compliance with RF exposure standards for radiocommunication apparatus in Canada, promoting safety and protecting the well-being of individuals using these devices.
