On May 28, 2024, the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) rendered a decision on the follow-up to a compliance check of Jungbunzlauer Ladenburg GmbH's registration dossier for tributyl O-acetylcitrate. The appellant challenged ECHA's decision, which was addressed only to them as the lead registrant, arguing that it violated principles of good administration, equal treatment, and non-discrimination by not including other registrants.

The Board dismissed the appeal, stating that follow-up decisions must align with initial compliance check decisions and cannot extend to registrants not originally addressed. The Board found no breaches of good administration, equal treatment, non-discrimination, or Article 25 of the REACH Regulation regarding animal testing. Consequently, the appeal fee was not refunded.
