It has been 30 years since the law that banned asbestos in Italy. We were among the first to do so and a lot of work still remains to be done. In the world, 75% of countries are still without regulations. Taking care of the environment where you work and live means taking care of everyone's health. Let's continue on this path. "  This was stated by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza , in his introductory speech to the event  Asbestos and Health: priorities and perspectives in the 30th anniversary of the tender in Italy" which took place today at the Ministry of Health on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of Law 257 / 92 which banned the use of asbestos in Italy. 

This was followed by the Director General of Communication and European and International Relations of the Ministry of Health, Sergio Iavicoli, the President of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Silvio Brusaferro , and the experts who illustrated the most recent epidemiological data and took stock on health surveillance, asbestos disposal routes, priorities to be addressed, epidemiological research on related asbestos diseases, legislation.
