Calls for the Review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive

The review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) represents a key opportunity to accelerate and further scale up the circularity of the EU economy.

Today, EUROPEN, together with 60 other industry associations representing the packaging value chain, sent a letter to Executive Vice-President Timmermans and Commissioner Sinkevičius calling for a robust review process of the PPWD to ensure that the ambitious policy goals of the Circular Economy Action Plan are supported by a future-proof regulatory framework driving investment in innovation and ensuring stronger enforcement and harmonisation across the EU.
