Landmark Agreement to Remove Toxic BPA from Socks

The Center for Environmental Health (CEH) has secured a landmark legal agreement with 30 companies, including Hanes and Asics, to eliminate bisphenol A (BPA) from their socks. BPA, a harmful endocrine disruptor, was found at unsafe levels in many sock brands. Over three years, CEH's efforts led to agreements with 51 companies to remove the toxic chemical, protecting consumers, particularly children and infants, from exposure.
