Titanium dioxide in nanoform is one of the most widely used nanomaterials, it can be found in solar creams due to its UV absorption capacity and as antifogging coatings and self-cleaning windows due to its photocatalytic sterilizing properties. It is also found as additives in paints, plastics, cements… thus it represents a major source of potential exposure in the workplace. ANSES has published a report recommending an occupation al exposure limit (8h OEL) of 0.80 µg/cm3.
