Rotterdam Convention | 29-30 March 2021 | National workshop to strengthen capacities for the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention in Bolivia

Highlights: Bolivia is a Party to the Rotterdam Convention since 2003 and has made noteworthy efforts for its implementation. With the financial support of FAO’s regular programme, the Secretariat of the Convention delivers technical assistance to Designated National Authorities (DNAs) in Bolivia through a project that supports efforts in the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention and notably in their response to incidents involving severely hazardous pesticide formulations (SHPFs).

The project is under implementation since 2020 and focusses primarily on the surveillance and recording of pesticide poisoning incidents and the reporting of SHPFs to the Rotterdam Convention Secretariat. The technical support provided by this project further contributes to strengthening national capacities to establish measures for pesticide risk reduction.
