The Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 provides a framework for the issuance of Commercial Evaluation Authorizations, which enable businesses to import or manufacture specific chemicals for commercial evaluation purposes. These authorizations are essential for the evaluation and testing of various chemicals, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards.
As of 20th October 2023, a series of such authorizations have been granted under Section 58 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019. These authorizations outline crucial details, including the chemical names or AICIS approved chemical names (AACN), their intended end use or generalized end use, and the authorized period for their commercial evaluation.
