On April 26, 2022, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare started a public consultation on the "Positive List of Food Utensils, Containers and Packaging".
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced "New draft table 1" and "New draft table 2", also announced the correspondence table between old and new lists.
Substances used for the first time as raw materials for food utensils or containers after Jun 1st, 2020, will need re-declaration, and those substances cannot be produced or imported for sale until they are placed on the New Positive List.
Public consultation period: 26th Apr, 2022 - 15th Jul, 2022.
