REACH registration dossiers: 26.000 company names and registration numbers made public
The European Chemical Agency (ECHA) has decided to publish additional information contained in the registration dossiers submitted by companies during the registration process. The publication process has already started: around 26.000 company names and registration numbers. In December 2012, PBT/vPvP assessment results will also be published.
In addition to direct communication with chemical suppliers, such transparency should facilitate downstream users in verifying the registration status of their substances.
Companies that during the submission of the registration dossier requested confidentiality, and which request has been approved by ECHA, will not be disclosed.
Confidentiality can also be requested also on the Safety Data Sheets for mixtures. If particular, for substances that a confidentiality authorisation has been granted by ECHA or a Member State companies can use alternative names in the safety data sheets.
