California - The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has published an updated version of the Proposition 65 List.

The list contains a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals include additives or ingredients in pesticides, common household products, food, drugs, dyes, or solvents. Listed chemicals may also be used in manufacturing and construction, or they may be byproducts of chemical processes, such as motor vehicle exhaust. Learn how chemicals are added to the list.

The new entires introduced in this release include:

(*) 1-Bromo-3-chloropropane (CAS 109-70-6) - It is a chemical intermediate used in the production of pesticides, adhesives, surfactants, and other chemical products.

(*) 1-Butyl glycidyl ether (CS 2426-08-6) - It is commonly used as a cross-linking agent in the production of epoxy resins. Epoxy resins are used in various applications such as coatings, adhesives, composites, and electrical laminates.

(*) Glycidyl methacrylate (CAS 106-91-2) - It is used as a monomer in the synthesis of various polymers and copolymers, especially in the production of resins, coatings, and adhesives. It is also used in the production of dental materials and as a coupling agent in various applications such as the synthesis of rubber and polymer composites.
