Pesticides – new data requirements for approving active substances | Feedback period 26 October 2021 - 23 November 2021

The EU’s ‘farm to fork’ strategy aims to reduce dependency on chemical plant protection products, including by enabling biological alternatives (such as microorganisms) to be sold in the EU.

To update the current rules for this purpose, this initiative will adapt the current data requirements (in part B of the Annex to Regulation 283/2013) to accommodate the characteristics of the microorganisms in these products, as they are different to those of chemical active substances.
